I was born in '54, so I grew up watching Zorro, although at that age episode content didn't stick as well as the theme song, Tornado, Diego de la Vega, Sgt. Garcia. But to this day I believe that Zorro is the one thing that gave me a great appreciation for Latin music and languages. A real cultural thing. And although I did watch Lost in Space in the sixties, I don't think I quite equated John Robinson with Zorro.
As a former doll collector who still indulges, instead of collecting like an addict, I buy more to transform into various Zorro character dolls. So far there have been numerous Zorros, one Anita Cabrillo, two Monastarios, two Diegos, and one AnnaMaria.
What this wonderful show has done for me is opened up the area of writing. The mannerisms, voices, just about everything are so ingrained, like a computer chip, in my mind that words seemed to just jump out onto the screen, it was so easy. With the right inspiration, one can achieve much.
Besides years of collecting Barbies, I also have several sets of plates with hummingbird motifs on, 45's records, and I have a set of ceramic trolls that there probably isn't another like it in the US, as they were made after a Swedish fairy tale illustrator's works and thusly bought there.
I'm also a Christian and a pet owner. I have two Gordon Setters, two cats, and a rabbit. I've had a couple of horses as well which I miss. Buck was a freebie. He was a golden chestnut, but looked very palomino in the summer. Bitsy was mine for a very short time. She was half Arab, half Welsh pony. But she had heaves. Her success in the show ring brought her many ribbons, but that was before I owned her. A real sweetheart.
I have three boys (My Three Sons) who are all in TaekwonDo, two of which are 2nd degree black belts. We've travelled near and far for competitions for it and they've had very good successes. My husband Gunnar is a Swede, and just recently took a first place with my '64 Volvo 122 in best in classics category at a Swedish Engineering car show/picnic. This car is a beauty and it isn't even complete! But it's my personal favorite auto.

Greetings to all the members of this lively group of Guy Wiliams/Zorro enthusiasts! I joined the United States Marine Corps a year after I graduated from high school. It was March 15th, l965 when I left Lockport, N.Y. We arrived at Parris Island, So. Carolina. Our boot camp was not with the men, we weren't even near the men.
After Boot Camp, I went to Aviation training at Naval Air Station Memphis, TN. In the general aviation training section of my schooling there were 4 of us WMs and 180 men.
I went to Cherry Point, M.C. after finishing Airfield Operations school. The men shipped out within a year for Vietnam. Women at that time did not.
Quantico, VA was where we went through Noncommissioned Officer traing after we were promoted to E-4, Corporal. That was quite an experience, more officers around there than you can shake a stick at.
My husband worked for the Federal Aviation Administration on base and I met him at work. We married, started our family, a son and a daughter, and I had to leave the Marine Corps.
I will be happy to answer any questions anyone may have for me. "Once a Marine, always a Marine." That is true for most of us.
